On one hand I agree with your assessment regarding the retail offering a Cat ETF…
There’s potential of Principal Loss, Complexity, Limited History to say nothing of Expense ratios.
On the other hand, IMHO, seems to be a lotta marketplace fear out there. To steal a Steve Martin quote… “…a profit deal, hah, takes the pressure off.”
