The sound bites are all edited to make them sound crazy.
For example, Liz Cheney says: "Well, he cannot be the next president, because if he is" and then she's cut off and slapped alongside some edited clip of Michael Cohen and then into an edited clip of David Frum saying that "he can shoot the First Lady".
Okay, I did a search for the Jonathan Capehart interview with David Frum and what they were actually talking about was the concept of a president pardoning himself for any and all federal crimes and the absurdity of self-pardoning, which does not appear in the Constitution. As Frum pointed out, this is insane and there's no limit to what a criminal president might do:
If a president can pardon himself for federal crimes, as Trump would likely do, then he could write his pardon in advance and shoot visitors to the White House... or shoot the First Lady. You know what's even weirder? The vice president can pick up a pistol, walk into the Oval Office and shoot the president dead and say, 'I'm the president now, pardon!"
And that, because of the absurd notion of self-pardoning power, the only recourse is impeachment but not prosecution.
Would you argue that Trump would not pardon himself? He pardoned all of his criminal cohorts, after all.
So, no, that was just a bunch of out-of-context nonsense edited to stir up the cult and evidently it worked on you.
