What is the board policy on this?

Shrewd’m readers love the fact that articles - like your excellent articles - are well written, article length rather than “comment” nature as increasingly everywhere else, and often having real insights.

That is overwhelmingly the case. All good.

When writing posts it is no problem to quote AI responses as long as they are referenced clearly as an AI quote.

Real bots - logging in with an account and reading and adding posts - highly unlikely from how the software works. Captchas have been annoying some authors but better to bias them toward strictness than the other way.

Ordinary authors who are using AI to answer without quoting - that is for the community to call out as bad taste.

The “bot” description does not fit the latter at all, and it is better described as “dishonest” if blatantly using AI as the whole reply, or “not ideal taste” if the reply is more than say 70% AI without citing it.

In short it for the community to call out - but also be careful with this as some posters in the past have been accused of using AI generation but just excellent authors, and revealed after as definitely their own writing when comparing to writing from years ago.

Be friendly and apply goodwill also, try to not accuse unless really certain and lean toward giving benefit of doubt (eg it might just be a segment copied without citing).
