I mean - can anyone really think that would be the outcome?
That could be the expectation in the "JC" echo chamber, and that is all that counts.
I mean, the far more likely reaction is the opposite. If gas prices spike because of the war, it will get the American people to demand that the war end. Not escalate.
Trump the Conqueror has been saying, for weeks, that a temporary increase in the price of gas is worth it to prevent Iran having a nuke.
The Administration would never get authorization from Congress for a ground invasion, and (more relevant) they'd never get the money from Congress for a ground invasion.
Some 90% of Congress takes money from the Israel lobby. A few days ago, Trump said out loud, he did it for Israel. I posted links to several Senate leaders complaining about the supposed "arty deal", that left the Iranian regime in place. Ted Cruz said it out loud: cannot have the Iranian regime survive. The other thread that has been running today shows how many people will never believe that Iran will ever abide by an agreement. Their leaders will tell them they are right, Iran can't be trusted, so the only path is regime change. Recall, Trump the Conqueror claimed "regime change" in March, because the Ayatollah the younger had replaced his father. No-one calls that "regime change", outside of Trump's delusions. What they want is a replay of Iraq, Libya, and Syria.
