Energy security is national security, yep.
Does this advance the energy security of Venezuela? It is their oil, after all.

Assuming this is real--and I say that -- because Trump will decide what is 'real' based on one tweet, or one scratch of his ass---so - truly never know if anything he says is real.
So ---again - - IF this is real.
It's marvelous for AMERICA's interests and as it should be. Kinda like when Carney talks CANADIAN interests --nobody asks him "but what about America's security".
As far as Venezuela---while I've seen no official security guarantee this problem means it's good for Venezuela's security----as long as they allow the USA to do as we please with oil. As long as our oil companies are filling out the customer survey, and leaving good marks. The minute Venezuela mis behaves they'll have a real problem. We'll find a non-white general or leader, tell our citizens how this guy doesn't feed his dog a good brand of dog food----and we'll have impetus to attack.
That is----what we do. Ask Saddam he'll tell you.
To those of us that weren't Pro-Soviet during the 80s. and aren't Pro Putin now---- I hope this reduces the influence of Russia and Iran vis a vis Venezuela.
