Damn I'm old. Seems just a few years ago you were talking about albabybaby (the new one). I was thinking the young one was in grade school.

After further review, we could probably make a Japanese move work, if we were so inclined. My wife's psychology practice could theoretically transfer, and she could bring in enough income for us to get a track for permanent residency (with me as the dependent spouse).
If we were seriously in the market for an expat retirement country, the exchange rate is so good right now it would be a serious consideration. That's not realistic for us - we're not leaving the country. But I mention it here in case anyone's looking for a new home away from the U.S.
