Immediately after the quake, defense counsel for Donald Trump filed a motion demanding the postponement of his scheduled April 15 trial, citing a need to thoroughly review the court building for potential safety issues. Quoting Trump himself in the motion, it said "For the safety of all the prosecutors, judges and clerks whose hard work I appreciate so much, I think it's best to postpone the trial at least twelve months to get an engineering firm to check out the building cuz if there's one thing I know it's construction in NYC and believe you me, those crooked builders cut corners bigly and you don't wanna be in that court when another 9.2 comes around and I know this was only a 4.8 but believe me, when I'm in court, we only have the biggest disasters and it would be likely we'd have a huge one, some say the biggest quake that's ever been had but lucky for the state of New York I happen to own a company that provides construction engineering services and operates a taco truck in Queens and they might be able to get a review scheduled earlier than that for only, say, $175 million that's guaranteed to certify the building cuz I have three building inspectors on the payroll of The Trump Organization cuz that's such a handy thing to have when you own hundreds of buildings..."
