He could cause a lot of trouble for Trump without much effort. For example, by just giving senators cover to duck Trump on legislation Musk doesn't like, like the BBB. I'm sure there will be others.

Well, he said on Twitter a little while ago that in response to Trump's threat about pulling his government contracts, he's ordering SpaceX to decommission the Dragon spacecraft immediately.

The Dragon is currently the only American spacecraft that can take crews to the International Space Station, given issues with the Boeing Starliner. The only other spacecraft is the Russian Soyuz.
