Some may have deduced my contempt for the CEO of Ford Motor before.

The Ford F-150 has been the best selling "light" vehicle in the US, for decades. Lately, sales have been declining. Ford blames the falling sales on "shortages" caused by the maker of the aluminum body material the trucks use. Funny thing, I looked at the inventory of a Ford dealer nearby: Bill Brown Ford, in Livonia MI. That store has over 200 F-150s on the lot. Granted, Bill Brown is one of the largest Ford dealers in the country, but 200 of anything does not look like a "shortage" to me.

While the Ford F-Series line of pickups - which includes the Ford F-150 and Ford Super Duty - has long reigned supreme as America's best-selling model, The Blue Oval doesn't break out F-150 sales from Super Duty sales. However, other entities do, and in that regard, the F-150 has long ranked at the top of the U.S. light-duty vehicle sales charts. However, the Toyota RAV4 did manage to outsell the F-150 in 2024 (though not the F-Series as a whole), and now, the Honda CR-V has claimed the top spot in the first half of 2026.

Ford has been retooling the Oakville, Ontario plant, to build more F-series trucks. Ford's greenfield "Blue Oval City" plant, originally intended to build EV trucks, is now being completed to build ICE F-series trucks, so that Ford doesn't need to write that off, along with the Billions that Ford already sent to money heaven on EVs.

Farley seems to think he can raise prices and profit margins to the sky, and always make more profit, no matter how many sales he loses. Does he really think he can use all the F-Series production capacity at Louisville, plus the Rouge, plus Oakville, plus Blue Oval City? Or is he just another delusional "JC" sitting in his echo chamber full of yes-men?
