iirc, the firebomb raid on Tokyo killed more people. It just took a bit longer to do it.

You could also point to Dresden or Cologne.

Regardless, Little Man and Fat Boy marked a line of demarcation that we NEVER want to approach again.

In Nagasaki and Hiroshima we witnessed a foretaste of the Destroyer of All Worlds.

That’s not to be trifled with.

There used to be a bright line there. But generations come, and generations pass away and memory dims.

I would hate to be reminded of that bright line by a sudden flash…… in a world armed to the teeth with nuclear weapons, with thousands of strategic warheads, each at least ten times more powerful than Little Boy or Fat Man
