Dope wonders why we call them fascists. I'm sure he can explain it all away.

He'll use his old favorite: The ostrich effect!

The ostrich effect is a cognitive bias where people avoid or ignore negative or potentially unpleasant information by metaphorically "burying their heads in the sand"
like the myth about ostriches. This avoidance helps them evade short-term emotional discomfort but often leads to worse consequences later on.
For example, people might avoid checking their bank account after overspending, ignore health symptoms, or avoid monitoring progress toward personal goals.
This behavior can manifest as physical avoidance, psychological avoidance (not thinking about the problem), or biased interpretation of information.
