The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

John Kelly, the former Marine general who was Sleepy Don's longest-serving chief of staff, agreed to three on-the-record, recorded discussions with a reporter for The New York Times about the former president -- and yes, Kelly said that he believed that Donald Trump met the definition of a fascist and had repeatedly praised Hitler.

Trump's recent comments about using the military against what he called the “enemy within” were so dangerous that Kelly felt he had to speak out.

He said that, in his opinion, Mr. Trump met the definition of a fascist, would govern like a dictator if allowed, and had no understanding of the Constitution or the concept of rule of law.

He discussed and confirmed previous reports that Mr. Trump had made admiring statements about Hitler, had expressed contempt for disabled veterans and had characterized those who died on the battlefield for the United States as “losers” and “suckers” — comments first reported in 2020 by The Atlantic.

Kelly said that Trump repeatedly told him that those Americans wounded, captured or killed in action were “losers and suckers.”

There's more. and more than enough for any right-thinking voter to reject Trump.

As Kelly said, while he agreed with some of Trump's policies, Trump was the wrong man for the presidency.
