"Catch and Release."

That phrase is the ole, nutty conservative propaganda spin for describing due process in the US.

"Catch = arrest and hold long enough to issue a cell phone, assign a court date, and provide a plane ticket to the interior of the country."</I.

That you even think this is a semi accurate description of what happens when someone is arrested for being in the country illegally shows you need much better sources of information.

"Release = the immigrant hardly ever shows up for court date."

Do you have statisitics on this or are you just mindlessly regurgitating something you heard on Fox?

Besides, if you want more people to show up in court, don't you think it would be better to give more resources to the legal process?

"The release part is what makes the borders, for all practical purposes, open."

So you don't believe in due process. Gotcha. Why would you choose to live in a country that has due process then?
