The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

The irony of this current situation…… is that the Republicans who are so afraid of being primaried by Trump that they refuse to stand up to him…… deserve to be primaried.”
****

Fair point.

However, as one who wonders if those opposing Trump *actually* want to defeat him ...I wonder if they will ever think out of the box --- change their tune a bit ---and then go on offense.

Meaning, stop the Pronoun Bully stuff. Openly say - our border wall will be taller. WIN elections. ADD SCOTUS seats. And do a mini moonshot and right the ship -- with some bipartisan consensus versus a 50.1% win.

Furthermore when REpublicans do stand up to Trump - give them aid and comfort. Meaning Rand Paul. MTG --- fund their campaigns. Don't run a Dem against them. Show other Republicans that it's time to abandon the lame duck---and be on the right side.

Yes, this requires swallowing *but* if one really, truly, was WANTING to 'save democracy' and not just post about it - surely, these are tiny tiny prices to pay.

OR - well - we can do it this way.

How great is this way.

Better yet - Dems win the 50.1% win - and the next Manchin can be President from a low GDP state again.

Sound familiar?

Anyone want to break that cycle?

I'm not sure ---if anyone does.
