Tell me what has happened to our nation, that his worthless narcissistic POS got elected to lead us. How?

Very simple. Because the opposition considered him to be a "literal hitler". If anyone you don't like much is "literal hitler", then nobody is "literal hitler", and your arguments are then summarily dismissed. Maybe a little hyperbole works in politics, but extreme hyperbole doesn't.
