All sorts of people raised hell when NYC announced "congestion pricing" = a toll levied on those who drove the streets of Manhattan. Cops and firemen were ticked because they were in the habit of driving in (rather than taking NYC's wide-spread mass transit system) and illegally parking wherever they pleased. Well, I took a trip into "The City" yesterday by subway and can report that traffic is way down and the borough-wide traffic jams seem to be pretty much over. The vast majority of vehicles were commercial, taxis (and other assorted livery services), diplomatic (can't get rid of all the rats and fleas) and only a smattering of private cars.

This idea has been a roaring success in my opinion and those who are against it should be ashamed of themselves.

Jeff
