My granddaughter was in a race to finish her final year of law school fall term finals….. and going into labor with her first child.

She finished her finals last week, and today, as my wife and I were decorating the house for Christmas, we received word that my first great grandchild arrived at 6 pm. Her name is Stella, and she weight 7 lbs 11 oz. Mom and dad, grandparents and “greats” are doing fine.

I asked Mrs. Z if my new title of great-grandfather conferred upon me the added status of “wisdom” and “respected elder”.

She just laughed and laughed.

“Asking for a friend” I added.
