The WSJ has a very good interview/podcast with Aswath Damodaran, the "Dean of Valuation" from NYU, on the valuation of SpaceX, the IPO, and implications for the market. He looks at SpaceX like a business (actually three businesses), and values them in a couple of different ways, using facts and figures. Has positive and negative things to say about Musk as a CEO. Bottom line: SpaceX is way overvalued, but so are a lot of things in the market these days. Probably good for trading, but not as a long-term investment.
I found the podcast very helpful to get a perspective on the giant IPOs we will see this year. Plus, it gave me something interesting to listen to while waiting for the World Cup to start and the Knicks to win the NBA finals. P.S. They mention BRK's recent investment in GOOG, but only in passing. Onward!
