The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

------------

I think the dem strategy is to establish a mindset that any statistics coming out the Trump Admin are unreliable, and should not be trusted. I suspect they think that casting doubt on statistics now will provide a foundation later to dispute anything good from the Trump Admin.

I think the voters are already skeptical of any statistics coming from government these days and I truly hope that Trust In Government (but verify) will be restored some day.

Like last time, voters will use their own eyes and their day to day living experience to tell them what's up. Which in turn informs their vote, such as knowing the border ain't secure despite what Mayorcas preached to us for three and half years; or knowing crime is up in my neighborhood and I am afraid to walk my kid to the bus stop or to go out at night, while at the same time, being lectured to about how crime is actually down and here are some statistics that show it.

Ignore you own eyes didn't work in 2024 and I have confidence the 2026 voters will again make their choice based on there own lived experience with little regard for third parties telling them what they "should" think.
