The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

I live in the most water efficient city in the world. If every city was even 90% as efficient as the city of Las Vegas is with water, then we wouldn't even be having this discussion because fresh water would be plentiful.

Interesting discussion. I'll just add that the bulk of fresh water usage worldwide--and in the US as well--is not "cities" but power generation and agriculture, to bring food and electricity to those cities.

It has been my lifelong goal to not be a grouchy old man, but now that I'm reaching that territory (65) I see how easy it is to be that way, especially with the deteriorating state of politics these days. I am of the thought--and have been for a long time--that a lot of the problems we're facing these days are the result of too many humans and not enough room for us all. And too many of those humans (myself included) gobbling up too many resources. Studies have shown that rats become more aggressive when space is limited, even if food and water are unlimited. Does that apply to humans?
