In the back of my mind, has been the thought, that his dalliance with the "birthers" was market research, to see if an openly racist campaign could get traction. We are living the result. He can get away with anything, as long as he shows his base brown people being beat up.

Had they just compromised a little bit, this all wouldn't be happening.
