Dunno. Seems possible. I'm not a criminal lawyer, but a triple homicide is such a serious crime, I don't know if a prosecutor wants to have their office (rather than a jury) be the ones that allow that to pass without sanction. And it's hard to see the defense reaching a plea deal - unless the prosecution agreed to something like a civil commitment rather than a criminal plea bargain? I don't know.
