I blame BOTH sides of the aisle, because neither is talking seriously about immigration reform in real terms. At most they pay lip-service to it. Mostly it's nonsense one-liners. I don't take either side seriously. I think it has been over a decade since anyone even proposed some serious legislation, but it got bogged down and went nowhere. There may have been policy differences, but mostly it was because the Republicans didn't want Obama to be able to claim another win. So immigration reform was flushed without much discussion.

And we aren't "letting" aliens into the country. We -as has been the case for a long time- catch and return what we can. We deport thousands every week. In fact, if you check, deportations are UP from this same period last year. 85000 just since title 42 was lifted (and that was reported in July...the number is undoubtedly larger now in September).
