The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

There are some notable high=yield income funds that have been getting comparatively crushed in price over the last 7 weeks. These funds hold below-investment grade corp debt and use leverage. Most of their portfolios are in the 7 to 10 year duration, and their premiums are being "compressed", some below NAV. One notable PIMCO fund is up to a 17.5% yield - with no change in NAV and no dividend cut.

So now the political move to "smooth out" long rates a bit.

Conspiratorial hypothetical: I wonder how much of this is enemy economic action - selling of US debt?

FC
dumped over 1/2 of my high-yield holdings in case a bottom is not in for a couple of weeks.
