I would suggest looking into something that I've mentioned a couple of times here: Investor AB, based in Sweden. INVE-B.ST
Short capsule: the Wallenberg family own a lot of Scandinavia, from their start in the 1850s. Early in the last century they owned a bank that owned a stock portfolio, and that became against the rules, so the portfolio was spun off and listed: Investor AB is the result. They own some businesses outright, mostly close to home, and also have a (low turnover) stock portfolio which is a bit more international. They don't have operations in Russia.
Like Berkshire, they really do a nice job for the long haul. The founding family trusts their wealth to it, so it ends up being a thing that others can [probably] trust too. Long term results have been excellent. They are probably a tiny bit more fully valued at the moment than they were a few years ago.
There is a faint chance of a price drop next week because of the Swedish election, which could result in a government that likes some policies that are not obviously great for business. If there is a drop, and it's noticeable, I will be buying more. I own some, but not nearly as much as I'd like. My long term plan is to own only two or three individual stocks, and this is one of them.
This fellow has written a couple of nice primers about them. A year or two old, but still a great introduction.
