Pew reports that 63 percent of American adults identify as Christian ' but that's down from 78 percent in 2007. I also suspect the internet has some influence. There's a reason people say "the Internet: where religions go to die". On the old TMF board, a few folks that showed up to Atheist Fools to convert the heathen were instead converted to disbelief.
