Yes, thanks for the reminder to visit “Boards At The Vanguard”. I rarely remember except when prompted. Something about ‘rack space’ in the brain, perhaps, but when I do, I inevitably find a couple of posts of interest, sometimes even prompting a response.

I wonder if this couldn’t be incorporated somehow into a “permanent but changing header”, like pick one of those posts at random and feed them above the usual format (much as the “Reminder” post is today.) And I mean randomly random, like everybody gets a different randomly suggested link or something. It’s possible that it would be more annoying than helpful, or perhaps it would generate traffic to other boards and thereby make the site more useful to a wider group?

Dunno. I’ve never run a message board before (and don’t intend to, like, ever.) Just a thought. (The thought is, if I haven’t made myself clear, that we tend to silo ourselves in our usual footsteps and the occasional kick in the ass might be a good thing. OTOH, I’d hate to encourage the enshittification of the page with irrelevant links, so it’s “a thought”, not necessarily a “suggestion.”)
