The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

Gator1984: He is a confirmed Liar on many fronts, he has achieved wealth living off the backs of taxpayers...

Gotta' love it when the Trump Cult criticizes anyone for being "a confirmed Liar". No politician in American history bests Trump for spraying a firehose of spectacular, egregious, easily disproved lies.

For low information posters, Biden's income and wealth have been public record for years and the only time he ever made significant sums of money was after leaving the vice presidency when he earned more than $15 million from book deals and speaking engagements.

Biden also earned more than $540,400 for a role at the University of Pennsylvania as a “Benjamin Franklin Presidential Professor of Practice.”

None of that wealth came from "living off the backs of taxpayers."

And as Forbes reports, most of his net worth was acquired through real estate. In 2017, Biden paid $1.7 for a summer home in Rehoboth Beach which, after improvements, is now worth $4.5 million.

The president owns an even larger, though not-quite-as-valuable house in Wilmington’s picturesque Greenville neighborhood. It started as just a piece of land, which Biden bought for $350,000 in 1996, before adding a 6,850-square-foot, colonial-style home two years later, then a 1,900-square-foot cottage in 2005. For years it was Biden’s most-valuable asset, and he refinanced it repeatedly until receiving his 2017 windfall. Today the property is worth an estimated $2.5 million, $700,000 more than it was worth two years ago. Combined, Biden’s two homes make up about two-thirds of his personal fortune.

Sorry, but you're wrong: none of his wealth came from "living off the backs of taxpayers."

None.

Now if you're truly interested in learning about a political grifter there's this guy who the Center for Responsive Politics determined bilked American taxpayers out of over $20 million beginning in 2016. You've probably heard of him: Donald Trump (second link below).
