Someone, please tell me this is simply Saudi's leaders posturing for the sake of domestic politics, that they can't be seen as aiding Israel's Mule, the Great Satan.
That's exactly what it is.
Any strike on Iran will come from 3-4 places:
-The Lincoln's strike group (will fly up the Gulf)
-Incirlik Air Base (fly from Turkey to Iran)
-Diego Garcia (same flight path as the Lincoln
-Iraq/Kuwait/UAE/Bahrain
After all doesn't Saudi want to see Iran's nukes set back like a million years? Isn't it a Sunni Shia thing?
The Saudis loathe the mullahs. They just don't want to be seen taking the side of the Great Satan. This is a classic "We love what you might do but can't say so publicly" PR thing.
