I can't find any mention in the NY Times. Nothing in WAPO. The Guardian mentions it. And Newsweek calls the details 'allegations'.

“Anticipatory Capitulation”

Great term to describe this period of American history when the guardrails are collapsing at a frightening rate.

Because the guardrails aren’t monuments or words written in a Constitution or any book.

The guardrails are you and me.

An autocratic strongman intimidates, and a huge number of folks simply capitulate ahead of time in the face of such threats, including editors and owners of media. They fear the cost they may pay if the strongman wins.

Anticipatory Capitulation is the road over which dictators ride into power. It’s the road where the barriers have ALREADY been removed in anticipation.

Only one shining barrier remains. You. Me. All of us together.
