Your position here seems to be that a colonial institution taking a unilateral action impacting the indigenous peoples of Palestine and resulting directly in their ethnic cleansing from their native lands is a historical fact that should bear no relevance to the present. Great Britain and its UN allies made a decision and implemented it. Palestinians lost. They gave up their human and civil rights when they lost. Too bad, so sad. Let’s move on without them (again).

You can’t understand the ongoing genocide in Gaza and ethnic cleansing in the West Bank without understanding the ethnonationalist origins of Israel. The Nakba was part and parcel of the formation of a Jewish state because without the cleansing of Palestinians such a state was impossible. Albaby admits as much every time he casts an envious eye towards India and Pakistan as if the forced dispossession and dislocation of millions is an easy and desirable solution to the construction of ethnonationalist states.
