On the other hand, the oil companies are probably being promised Trump will do "great things" for them, if they "play ball" with his scheme to con the Proles by artificially suppressing the price of gas, until November. In the mind of a "JC" like Trump, everyone is expendable, including other "JCs", to achieve his own short term goal.
After all, the scheme to suppress gas prices with the fake MOU seems to have run it's course. So, this is gas price suppression 2.0.
