Dollar Tree up 4.4% today. DLTR stock certainly has been swinging through large arcs recently.

Party City stores throughout the USA are now empty and closed. Party City had nearly 900 operating stores two years ago and in 2023 had $2.1B in revenues. Some industry folks are predicting DLTR will receive a portion of Party City's former sales. Party City had been declining over the past ten years and DLTR likely was already draining some sales from Party City. It will be interesting to see if DLTR gets, say, 25% of the $2.1B annual sales Party City had been doing. If that were to happen it bumps up DLTR's annual revenues by 1.5%. On the surface that sounds like a large number, still, DLTR is probably now receiving additional sales in 2025 in the party supply space with Party City's closing of more than 800 stores in the past three months.
