As a matter of interest, another small value fund that may be worth considering is the Dimensional ETF DFSV. Its characteristics are likely to be similar to those of AVUV, a fund created by former Dimensional managers, and operated along similar lines.

DFSV is an ETF implementation of an established mutual fund, DFSVX, which has existed since 2000.

I have read that active management is more likely to pay off in the small cap space. Not sure about that. Here is DFSVX (an active SC value fund) compared to IJR (SC blend):
