The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

... and endangers the living.
meidasplus.com - Trumps disgraceful comments about our fallen soldiers

Donald Trump arrived at Dover Air Force Base today for the dignified transfer of four American service members killed in his unlawful war with Iran, and he brought along Natalie Harp, the aide widely mocked online as his “human printer,” standing next to him on the tarmac. You’d think a moment like that would be the one time a president manages to keep politics out of it. Not with Trump.

Trump put words in the fallen soldiers mouths, telling reporters that the fallen troops had all said that they didn’t want Iran to have a nuclear weapon and that they’d be fine with how things turned out. Using their deaths to manufacture consent for a war they didn’t choose is about as low as it gets. Republican former congressman Justin Amash called it disgusting and shameful for a president to put words in the mouths of service members who can no longer speak for themselves. He’s right.

Trump also insisted that Americans aren’t against the war, which is news to basically everyone, and when a reporter raised the barracks strike in Jordan, his response was that Iran is “going to pay a big price,” followed by an attack on the reporter accusing the reporter of wanting Iran to have a nuclear weapon.

And here’s the part that should really alarm you.

While Trump was staging this photo op, satellite imagery showed Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar completely emptied of American aircraft, because Iran has been hitting US bases across the region with increasing precision. The equipment is being moved to safety. The people are not.

"Suckers and losers" was Trump's description of soldiers.
