The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

the gop kleptocracy has a surplus of targets, and is playing out as expected.
1. taxpayers (largest, easiest)
2. equity mkt manipulation by oscillating tweets (surprise scaled entry)
3. lobbyists (iran, etc...)
4. all else is trump\MAGA entertainment budget (ballroom, etc...)

"It helps to think of the [Trump] economy as a mafia bust-out, where the “mark” is the US Treasury. In a
bust-out, the mafia takes control of a legitimate business, runs up credit as much as they possibly can,
they and their cronies profit handsomely, and then they leave the mark with a bankrupt shell.
Translated to the US economy, the nation’s credit (i.e., the national debt) is being run up with wild
abandon. [Trump], his family, other insiders, and the GOP zealots he needs to keep on board are profiting
handsomely. Ultimately it is the mass of US taxpayers who will be left with the bill."
