The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

I keep seeing small US regional banks showing up in my value screens. Lots of them. For weeks now.

I can see at least three obvious reasons why this is:

- They are cheap, and deserve to be.

- They are cheap, and do not deserve to be.

- My screeners are poorly designed and naturally pick out bank-y qualities.
(Yet they don't pick up big banks.)

Other reasons may also exist that I have not anticipated.

Like the everyday banking accounts at many of these banks, personally, I have zero interest.

But perhaps it's of use to someone else.

e.g. as part of a 'buy everything and let god sort the good from the bad' strategy.

If you're curious, load up Finviz and pick out "Banks - Regional" and sort by market cap and have a look.

If you find anything unusually worthwhile, please do let me know via this thread.
