If someone appears to be repeatedly personal, lean towards patience as they might not mean offense. If you are sure, however, then do not deepen the problem by being negative; instead, simply place them on ignore by clicking the unhappy yellow face to the right of their name.

Dear Wall Street Journal:

Two things that reliably set off my moderately-politically-passionate thirtysomething eldest son are a) Ranked Choice Voting (for) and b) the WSJ editorial page (against).

Every 7-10 days or so I can rely on there being a WSJ editorial egregious enough to where I view it as my paternal duty to forward to him, and then listening for the distant explosion (they live about ten miles away).

Eleven minutes after forwarding I received a single line email: "Hard to imagine a more WSJ article than one mansplaining how voting is too complicated for voters"

raising him was a big pain in the backside.
but having them boomerang from Chicago back to the zip code where he grew up...it doesn't get much better
