Last I heard you still can't send people to prison unless they've broken the law, were indicted and convicted.* So can someone educate me about what law they'd be breaking?
Trump loyalists usually find and obscure unused law, dust it off, and apply a new interpretation to it. Then you're charged, possibly jailed, and you have attorney's fees, costs, and a whole lot of rhetoric about fraudulent elections, and how corrupt democrats are in elections, then it'll probably be dropped after elections are over. They should time it so it can't be dismissed prior to midterms.
*Unless they're a U.S. citizen with dark skin.
Trump would probably like to attempt to reinstate peonage if someone talks to him about it.
