The buildings that housed the psych wards in TC have been converted into upscale condo's. I've did a walk thru a decade ago in some non-updated rooms, and I swear I could feel the pain and suffering that happened in those rooms. Reminded me of a visit to a Plantation somewhere between Myrtle Beach and Charleston, where I went into a slave's shack, could damn fear feel the horrors that occurred there, also.

There is a really nice park near the main branch of the library. On Sundays, the last few times I've been there, it has been like a homeless convention, I'm guessing 50 or more homeless in 3 main groups. Have seen a couple playing with their knives, seeing who can make a very short toss the closest to whatever target they pick out.
These are definitely mentally unstable people. Upscale housing has gone in on one side of the pond, adjacent to the 4.5 mile walking/biking path. It is just a matter of time b4 the homeless will be rousted from this spot.

I have no idea how to fix this problem. One thing is for sure, the State and the city of TC will not throw money at the problem. I donate to the food bank in the area, and there are a couple of churches that allow them to sleep overnight. But once they go in for the night, they can't leave and get back in, so many wander like zombies all night. Works ok in the warm months, could easily turn fatal in winter.
