You want to compare far left ideologies like communism to our liberal democracy, when, in reality, when the left and right ends of the political spectrum get extreme they start to resemble each other, in that they tend to become repressive, often brutal, autocracies. Thus Stalin on the left and Hitler on the right.

At this moment in time the political right under the leadership of Trump is much more likely to head our country down the dark road to authoritarianism.
