The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

And frankly, the "normal" republicans are not much better than the cult.

And frankly, there appears to be ZERO learning taking place among "normal Republicans."

Cassidy Hutchins -- who I seriously think should have been named Time's Person of the Year in 2022 for her decision to reject the paid counsel that was being provided and encouraging her to lie under oath -- is making the rounds this week for her new book describing her experience in the White House.

In an interview on CBS Sunday Morning, she was asked about the 2024 election and she said she would definitely not be voting for Trump but would definitely be voting for a Republican (at least in the primary). One would think a person exposed to that level of corruption --- IN the White House not only in hourly proximity to a corrupt President but dozens of equally corrupt appointed officials and outside crazies -- would realize the entire Republican Party power structure is identical in nature to the man at the top, Trump.

This will not end until Republicans lose filibuster control in the US Senate, lose the House and serious reforms are made to combat gerrymandering throughout the country to yield fair races for State legislatures as well. If another Republican wins the White House with either control of the Senate or House to block impeachment/conviction, the American experiment in democracy will be over.
