Of course. The more felons and illegals, plus provisionals from homeless the better, amirite?

No, you’re not right.

The numbers of illegal voters is vanishingly small- as it should be.

But Republicans have a solution in search of a problem, and all such “solutions” generally create even bigger problems- as this Republican non-solution is intended to do.

Republicans have been hammering the non-issue of voter fraud for decades. The trouble of course, is that there is no voter fraud thT approaches a significant scale.
And the purpose of such hammering?

To pave the way for suppressing the votes of legitimate voters.

It’s an old old technique, first perfected by Jim Crow Democrats, but more recently practiced by Republicans.

And how do we know the effort is bogus? They’re breaking the law by initiating ther voter purges less than 90 days before the election, giving little time for legitimate voters to protest their removal. Abbott just bragged that Texas is purging hundreds of thousands of names from voter roles.

I’m sure the majority of those names are of folks either dead or moved- but out of almost a million names, there are quite a few who are live, legitimate voters. This purge should have been done months ago. The fact that it was done only recently testifies not only to its illegality, but also its motive- to sow confusion and threaten the voting status of legitimAte voters, giving them scant time to a.) discover that they’ve been removed, and b.) get their names back on the rolls.

Which party threatens the “integrity of the vote”? Self evidently and brazenly, the Republican Party.

They’re not even trying to hide it, though they are certainly trying to mask their intent by calling their efforts “protecting the vote”.

Don’t piss on our heads and tell us it’s raining.
