Dunno if you were a fan of the show *but* basically, these are Bill Clinton Democrats who had travel plans botched, and were stuck in a Reddish-State area and consorted with some non Coastal folk.

No, wasn't a fan of the show. Never watched it.
But, yeah...IMHO, it's the whole point of government to make sure that guy can succeed (given what information we glean from his talk). That doesn't include tax cuts for billionaires, or bailing out banks. That guy needs more teachers, more support for higher education, better healthcare coverage, and probably some other stuff he didn't talk about (like being able to retire, and enjoy retirement?).

Yes and good people can discuss or debate how and if to do those things.
BUT in the beginning of the scene, how the woman lectures them on the state fair, on how those proud people were decent, and cared about their hobbies and way of life. And how the daily political crap didn't matter to them - the everyday basics did.
If someone was to stop talking down to people....
If someone was to stop ostracizing and cancelling people....
And then have a receptive audience.......
I wonder, would messages of health and education and retirement - carry the day?
