The dam is starting to really leak a lot of water; very soon it will break.

First up is the Establishment of Establishment reporters, Carl Bernstein on how his "sources" have been telling him that Biden's not all there for a long time:

https://redstate.com/bradslager/2024/07/02/waterga...

"The Joe Biden we saw the other was not a one-off. There have been 15, 20 occasions in the last year and a half when the president has appeared somewhat as he did in that horror show, uh, that we witnessed. And what is significant is the people that this is coming from, and also how many people around the president are aware of such incidents - including some reporters incidently, who have witnessed some of them."

Whatevs, CB. Those of us with 2 functioning eyes have seen Biden's condition for years. It's telling that you had this story and sat on it, but "journalists" haven't been into doing their jobs for over a decade now.

Over the weekend several potential replacements for Biden send out quiet feelers but then deny they were sending out quiet feelers. Big Gretch Whitmer, Newsom, the like. Whitmer even told Team Biden that thanks to the debate Michigan is now a lost cause (she later would walk that back).

But now democrat politicians are starting to openly call for Biden to step down:

https://x.com/mychaelschnell/status/18081806629453...

INBOX: Rep. Lloyd DOGGETT (D-Texas) becomes the first sitting Democratic lawmaker to publicly call on BIDEN to withdraw from the 2024 race.

"Rep. Doggett Calls on President Biden to Withdraw"

Doggett has served in the House since 1995.

I've never heard of this guy, but that doesn't matter. The mere fact that some elected dems are starting to break ranks tells us that the dam has some serious cracks in it.

Other dems are weighing in:
https://x.com/Jules31415/status/180813561763033536...

Rep. Mark Quigley says Biden “has to be honest with himself” because “his decision not only impacts who’s going to serve in the White House the next four years” but who will serve in the House and Senate “and it will have implications for decades to come”

Quigley isn't a nobody: he's a Chicago machine dude and the convention is in his district. Dogget reps Austin, Tx and if HE'S sounding the alarm...then all is not right in Denmark.

Some of you were wondering how the fundraising calls are going. Not well, as it turns out:

https://www.cnn.com/2024/07/01/politics/jen-omalle...

Dillon offered no indication that Biden was considering changing course, three participants on the call told CNN, as she offered a staunch defense of his health. She pointed to the president’s health report released by his doctors earlier this year, which declared him fit to serve.

“He’s probably in better health than most of us,” Dillon said, according to two of the participants, one of whom said the comments were offensive and dismissive of the real concerns about Biden in the wake of his debate performance.

Gaslighters gonna gaslight, but what else were they going to say?

And now Politico with stories from "insiders":

https://www.politico.com/news/2024/07/02/biden-cam...

[I]nside the White House, Biden’s growing limitations were becoming apparent long before his meltdown in last week’s debate, with the senior team’s management of the president growing more strictly controlled as his term has gone on. During meetings with aides who are putting together formal briefings they’ll deliver to Biden, some senior officials have at times gone to great lengths to curate the information being presented in an effort to avoid provoking a negative reaction.

“It’s like, ‘You can’t include that, that will set him off,’ or ‘Put that in, he likes that,’” said one senior administration official. “It’s a Rorschach test, not a briefing. Because he is not a pleasant person to be around when he’s being briefed. It’s very difficult, and people are scared shitless of him.”

The official said, “He doesn’t take advice from anyone other than those few top aides, and it becomes a perfect storm because he just gets more and more isolated from their efforts to control it.”

The debate, however, was so dismal for Biden that nobody could ignore it. For as furiously as Biden’s advisers have pushed back on concerns about his age, the now 81-year-old president’s halting, soft-spoken and scattered responses to former President Donald Trump, 78, shattered the party’s magical thinking on the subject.

That the president’s difficulties came as such a shock was largely the result of how effectively his top aides and the White House on the whole has, for three and a half years, kept him in a cocoon — far away from cameras, questions and more intense public scrutiny.

This last bolded bit is of course complete BS, as anyone with working eyeballs could see how bad off Biden has been for years. But if you dared speak the truth the media and democrats would shut you down.
