Mike, I suspect it's rural vs city/urban, and more women are liberal. Women are more open to a mental health condition, and it's easier to be diagnosed in the city/urban areas. Conservatives have to explain the suicide belt in the West, toxic masculinity, and that, just in general, men don't admit to mental health conditions.
My MAGA brother was very depressed. I flew out and talked him into taking Wellbutrin. It worked, but he won't talk about it, or admit it ever happened.
