For the record, I watched the dog park hearing of my local Architectural Review Board, and was glad I did. Civility, respect, listening, public servants willing to set aside their own personal preferences and try to consider what is best for the community as a whole, and my personal favorite: when someone was asked a question, they answered it instead of launching into a diatribe about whatever it is they want to talk about and ignoring the question.
All this in a town of just 13,000 people! All unpaid volunteers! Reminded me of the good old days, that weren't necessarily so long ago. We can be so much better!
