The week's question
In December 2024, in the thread "Re: BRK: Why Not XOM?", BreckHutHigh asked the members: "What about the long road trips with kids?" This week it is put to everyone again. The button below opens the small thread re-asking it - read what others have said so far, then give your own answer as an ordinary reply.

"All I care about is what the next president is going to do for my safety and my pocketbook. And Trump has a much rosier future painted for me than the buffoon who "beat Medicare"."

You are voting for Trump because he painted you a rosy future?

Are you dumb enough to also invest with those "money managers" who promise you 100% annual returns because they are promising a rosy future?

Do you realize that before his last election, Trump promised to come up with a healthcare plan better than the ACA. He backed out of the agreement that prevented Iran from developing nuclear weapons because he promised he could reach a better agreement. Trump promised to balance the federal budget. Trump promised that COVID wasn't going to be much of an issue. Trump promised Mexico was going to pay for the wall built between the countries. Trump promised lots of things that never ever came true. Trump tells people what they want to hear because he knows there is some subset who will be dumb enough to actually believe him.

There is a reason Trump brags about loving the less educated.

Wake up. Educate yourself. You are being taken advantage of. Only rather than just hurting yourself by losing your own money, you are hurting the country with your ignorance.

If you are too lazy to educate yourself, fine. Be lazy. In that case, the best thing you can do for yourself and your country is to stay home and not vote in the next presidential election.
