vindman was an admirable candidate with moderate domestic policy views.
his flaw was running in a red state and being well-known for trying to prevent the tragedy of trump 2.0
moderate dems dont have a great record even in purple states. some famous ones we know are exceptions.

when the corruption doesnt swing in their direction, grumbling gop voters are more than happy to accept the ill-founded message that all parties are equally corrupt.
the thing that matters most these midterms is:
- trump himself not being on the ticket.
- gop voters not feeling so great about their current financial circumstances while the media is blitzing billionaire news every minute.

it is not the 'more progressive' dem that moves the needle in red and purple states. it is disinterest by gop voters.
