I just finished Service Model by Adrian Tchaikovsky. It was excellent. I’m still marveling over it.
“Service Model is a humorous, dystopian science fiction novel by Adrian Tchaikovsky about a robot valet named Charles who accidentally murders his owner and goes on a journey to find a new purpose in a world where humanity is in decline and robots are struggling to adapt. The book follows the robot, renamed Uncharles, as he navigates a collapsing society, exploring themes of consciousness, identity, and the absurdity of bureaucracy through a blend of Douglas Adams-style comedy and philosophical commentary.”
